How to Change the Character Encoding of Websites

Do you remember the days when you were a kid, and wanted to play a cool game with your friends, but were always afraid that your friend would cheat? Or when you first visited a new website and tried to read their content, only to see that some characters looked different from what you had in mind?

This is exactly what happened to me. When I first started exploring the Internet and reading websites, I discovered that some websites would display different contents depending on your character set, and I have been trying to figure out why.

For example, you would never expect this kind of page to be displayed:

So, if you are having a hard time reading the content on a particular website, you could try to manually change the character set in your browser's settings, which is what I am going to do with this extension.

You can use this extension to change the character encoding of websites that support it. It is pretty easy to use, you can use it just by opening a website. You will need to check "Allow access to file URLs" in extension manage page, and then you will see a character-changing option in the bottom-right corner of the page.
